Our fitment methodology
Every size, width window, and recommendation on this site follows the same sourcing hierarchy — so you can check our work, and so “it fits” never depends on our say-so alone.
The hierarchy
Five sources, in order of authority
Your door-jamb placard
The tire placard on the driver-side door jamb is the legally required OEM record for your exact build. If anything on this site disagrees with your placard, the placard wins — full stop.
OEM documentation
Owner’s manuals and factory specifications (for Dodge fitments: Stellantis/Mopar publications). This is where our factory-size charts come from.
Tire-manufacturer data sheets
Every tire model ships with manufacturer-published specs, including approved rim-width ranges. Our wheel-width windows follow these sheets and the industry standards they implement.
Industry standards
The Tire and Rim Association (T&RA) in the US and ETRTO in Europe define how sizes, load ratings, and rim pairings are standardized — the rules behind every “window” we publish.
Community-verified setups
Aftermarket staggered conversions come from documented, owner-verified builds. These are real-world reports, not factory endorsements — we label them as such and pair them with the diameter math.
What we compute ourselves
Overall diameters, the 1% pairing rule, sidewall heights, and speedometer error are geometry — computed live in the stagger calculator from the standard sizing formula, so you can verify any number on this site.
Independence
How money never touches the data
This site earns affiliate commissions when you buy through retailer links — disclosed on every page. That revenue model has one honest property we care about: the commission is the same whichever tire you pick, so we have no incentive to steer you to a worse tire. No brand pays for placement, no recommendation is sponsored, and when the budget tire is the right call we say so.
Corrections: fitment data changes with model years and packages, and we make mistakes like anyone. Report one to fitment@staggeredsetup.com and it gets fixed fast — the correction, not the ego, is the product.
